Dear Friends,
Namaskaram
Jagadish Chandra Bose (1858–1937) was an Indian polymath who made pioneering contributions to physics and plant physiology. He conducted groundbreaking research on radio and microwave optics, was among the first to use semiconductor junction device to detect radio waves, and is regarded as the father of Bengali science fiction.
He invented the crescograph to measure plant responses, demonstrating similarities between plant and animal tissues. In 1917, he founded the Bose Institute, one of India’s oldest interdisciplinary research centres, and served as its Director until his death. This issue presents a selection of his insightful quotes.
In our cover story, the Zen master reminds us that peace is not achieved by trying to control life, but by embracing it as it unfolds. When we stop resisting and learn to say “yes” to each moment, we discover that enlightenment is not distant or extraordinary—it quietly resides in the natural flow of everyday life.
