From “Are You Living?” to “Conditioning of the Mind”…….

Dear Friends,

Namaskaram!

Desmond John Morris (born 24 January 1928) is an English zoologist, ethnologist, and surrealist painter, widely recognized for his work in human sociobiology. Renowned for his 1967 classic The Naked Ape and the television series Zoo Time, he has profoundly influenced the popular understanding of human behaviour. This issue presents a selection of his most thought-provoking quotes.

The front page prose poem suggests that people are merely existing without truly living — lacking awareness, joy, or purpose.

In happenings section, we have featured (i) Workshops on “Traditional Siddha Varma Bone Setting Practices” (ii) Free Siddha medical camp (iii) Supply of kits – “Harit Urja” project (iv) Study tour (v) Field visit (vi) Paper presentation and (vii) Revival and Renovation of Traditional water body etc.

The Wisdom section features insights from Kamala Chowdhry, the Indian educator, who cautions that the entire ecosystem is moving toward disaster in the name of development. Henryk Skolimowski, the Polish philosopher, calls for an “Eco World View” as essential for the planet’s survival. The section concludes with a reminder of the classic story of Ivan Pavlov’s dog, symbolizing the conditioning of the human mind. For reading the newsletter, please click here
