Renovation of temple tank with PPP model (Public Private Partnership) – 1 March 1999 Vivekananda Kendra carried out a major work under ‘NamakuNaame scheme’ in the year 1999 by taking the water from KumariSalai tank to Kanyakumari temple tank which is 2.5 kms away.  The total budget was Rs.10 lakhs out of which Rs.2.5 lakhs were contributed by the local stakeholders. It was a noval project involved in District administration Temple authorities (HR&CE) Town Panchayat Vivekananda Kendra as a catalytic agent and All the local stakeholders.
